Canandaigua Lake
“I moved to Rochester from Sonoma, California, in 1983. I love Rochester because it is beautifully located between the Finger Lakes, the Adirondack mountains, and Toronto and New York City. I love that in one hour you can be kayaking, skiing, watching a movie or concert, walking on the beach, hiking a gorge, enjoying an art exhibit, biking the canal path, golfing at a beautiful golf course, browsing a museum, shopping for handmade items, smelling the lilacs, or photographing the autumn display of color. I love that Rochester people have a passionate history for justice and equal rights and generosity with the poor.
“We have awesome musicians in Rochester, and I love to go out at night and listen to them. My two favorite musicians are Matt Ramerman on the drums and Jim Ramerman on piano! Rochester is filled with spiritually deep and wise people that stretch me to the best I can. I love to hang out at the 1872 Café on West Main Street, to go to the Thursday night mass at Spiritus Christi, and walk the bike trail along the Genesee River and Lake Ontario. I also love golfing at Lakeshore golf course. Did I mention the zoo? How about an evening kayak on Canadice Lake? How did I get so lucky to come to such a great place?”
